The Scottish Norwich Plainhead Club, usually referred to as the SPC, was founded at Aberdeen in 1899. The objectives of the Club are the promotion of the Norwich Canary by means of :
The Standard of Excellence and Scale of Points
| TYPE: Short and cobby. Back: broad and well filled in, showing slight rise transversely. Chest: broad and deep, giving an expansive curved front, and sweeping under in one full curve to the tail. Ideal length 6 to 6 1/4 " Stance at about an angle of 45 degrees. |

| HEAD: Proportionately bold and assertive in its carriage. A full forehead rising from a short neat beak. To be well rounded over and across the skull with the cheeks full and clear featured. Eyes to be well placed and discernible. |

| NECK: Short and thick, continuing the run from the back skull on to the shoulders and from a full throat onto the breast. |
|
| WINGS: Short and well braced, meeting nicely at the tips, to rest lightly, yet closely on the rump. |
|
| TAIL: Short, close packed, and well filled in at the root. Rigidly carried, giving an all of one piece appearance with the body. |

| LEGS
& FEET:
Legs, well set back. Feet perfect |

| CONDITION: In the full bloom of perfect health. Bold, bouncing in movement. |

| FEATHER QUALITY : Close and fine in texture, presenting the smooth, silky plumage necessary to give a clean cut contour. |

| COLOUR:
Rich,
bright and level throughout, with sheen or brilliancy.
Yellows should be a deep orange. Buffs rich in ground colour and well mealed. |

| STAGING: Clean, and correctly staged in the Standard Club Cage. |
